You have to travel on a crap 50 seat RJ because in the past our union didn't do enough to protect our jobs. Too late for me, but not too late for the young bucks wandering the halls these days sporting a halfwing. I say, better late than never. Willis already has enough money to spit polish the operation. They just want more RJ drivers and fewer of us.
What's past is prologue.
I don’t know how to post memes, but that Cool Hand Luke is great. I wanted to post one of Sheriff Bart saying “can’t you see that this is the last act of a desperate man?” I know that we want to take back the flying, but when this is what they come up with, scope is choking them. I don’t expect small rj’s at mainline in this round, but I wouldn’t be surprised with something in the 100-120 seat range ordered in the next couple of years as the current negotiations wind down. Our current contract gives them an option for the rj’s that they want and they have kicked the can about as far as they can now. I’m cautiously optimistic that the company will have no cost effective option but to bring more flying to mainline in the near future. That pesky union contract is working as designed. Not trying to preach to the choir here by the way.
