That is true to as certain extent, but Lynx does not compete with all airlines, just other small market operators like Great Lakes and such.
I still think it is a good news. It's better than airlines folding like they did in the last 10 years. (ie. Pan Am, TWA, Piedmont etc.)
I realize that Lynx has little direct competition. I just wouldn't go so far as to say that
any time we get a new airline it's good for
all pilots. Doesn't seem like Virgin America is getting too much love.
