Need some career advice please.
I'm a 50 year old that's been out of aviation for about 18 years and looking to get back into it.
I've got an ATP, about 5000 hrs TT, and over 1500 hrs as a 727 FO, but no turbine PIC, and no types. I've also got a college degree in professional aviation.
I lost my medical back in 2000, but I was recently able to get a 1st Class again and should be able to keep it. I'm not current, but I'm doing a bi-annual next week and have a few options to get some flight time afterwards to get proficient.
I'm married, wife has a good job, no kids and own a home in south Louisiana, so moving isn't an option. I'm willing to commute though. I've only got about 14 years left if flying for an air carrier, so I'd like to maximize my earning potential also.
If you were in my shoes, what would you do. Thanks in advance.
