This book is Jehn’s view on what really happened to Eastern, all centered around the crash of EAL985 in Bolivia on Jan 1, 1985 (a crash barely anyone has ever heard of - it hit a mountain outside La Paz.) The book claims that this crash would have opened up a can of worms at the highest political levels based on Eastern’s supposed cooperation with the US government and that Eastern was ordered to be shut down by the highest powers in the US, but made to look like a labor/management fight (enter Frank Lorenzo.) Starting with the fact that this crash was initially refused to be investigated by the NTSB, and onwards from there.
It is a fascinating read. Anyways, just curious to know what former Eastern pilots/employees think of the book, and if they believe Jehn has credibility in his opinions.
I think you mean EAL Flight 980.
Probably just a typo.
If there is a 985 crash, you're right, no one has ever heard of it!!
