In the little free time you'll find during training, please take the time to look over the ALPA organizing website. You'll be taught a lot of reasons why SkyWest claims being non-union is "great" but might I suggest going beyond what you're being told by the company in training and discerning for yourself if you prefer some of the benefits of an international union.

Good luck in training!
Thank you. While historically I have not been a supporter of Unions, I do come from an Airline family; I'll be #5, forth pilot. I have never worked for a union shop either so I only have one side to relate to as far as experience goes but I am going to do my best to also educate myself on the merits of a union, especially if I want to go to a Major. I've just received my copy of, Flying the Line, so along with my studies in college, I'm hoping this will help foster my opinions into more educated ones.
Aside from that, I'm excited for the new adventures and to make new friends in the 121 world. I'm sure it will be a vastly different adventure than the 135/91 world I'm coming from.
Cheers.
