Interactive seniority list, as updated this February, with me (01/18 hire) selecting DFL "what if" for March 2019 shows just about 200 total pilots in status, 100 senior to me, 100 junior to me and 80 reserves.
In plain English, that translates to me and twenty pilots below me being able to hold a line as DFL, if no senior guys bid reserve on purpose (so 4/18 hire being the most jr). Looking at the March DFL reserve list, I see 9 pilots senior to me bid reserve.
So, with that in mind, lets say 30 pilots below where I'd be on that seniority list is where the lines stop and reserve begins. That works out to 5/18 hire.
Now, people going into training this month etc can shift that a bit too, but for practical purposes, that still equates to 10-11 months to hold a line since doh. Not two months.
Why don't you stop playing with the interactive seniority list, and just look at what was awarded?
I really don't get where you pull your numbers from. 1/2018 hire would be in the top 70 (seniority number 1750ish).
3XP shows the most junior DFL lineholder is an August 2018 hire. He's around 125 in base/equipment and a seniority number ~2100.
