I agree. The profit sharing issue is uniquely our fault for accepting a substandard mediocre contract because we accepted cliche status quo excuses. I simply am supremely confident that we could have negotiated substantially better had we been much, much smarter.

Also, about the purpose of a business... there is no law or rule saying that a company has to be run primarily for profit. I know that is the American preconceived notion spread by corporatism, but that is not the only way. If chick fil a wanted to make more profit, they could open on Sunday too and join the leftist elite.

Personally, if I ran an airline, i would run it for the primary benefit of the employees. This doesn't mean that profit isn't important. It just means that profit is a means to end rather than the primary objective.
