I work far beyond my job description with passengers and with my coworkers.
I get exposed to toxic fumes on every flight, massive radiation, and irregular sleep schedules which shortens my life and makes me more chronically ill than the regular office warrior (I've been that too, btw).
I've been in management at a VP level, not at JB. That kind of experience demands higher pay.
I spend considerable time educating myself with all rules, regulations, policies, flight manuals, ACs, OpSpecs, etc., because I am a professional pilot that undestands that a great portion of my life is being a lawyer.
I am responsible for up to approx 200 lives, all depending on me and my FO being right the first time, every time.
I could easily keep going but these are very common to any professional pilot and not unique to me. If you don't agree with these, then you're probably very new to aviation in general. This is a profession where lives are in your hands so it's a very serious business that demands a professional.
Now tell me, why should I be happy that I make less than a major carrier? Why should I be happy about virtually no profit sharing? I want to make JB great again.
New to aviation, now that's funny. You can add cockpit comedian to your resume. 🤣
From your brief resume, I'd say you fall in the 50-60% range of pilots here. But you chose a career field that doesn't reward experience. Every move, be it up, down, or lateral, has us starting over at the bottom.
Thank you for your service. Much respect to all who serve.
