I vaguely recall one incident on a jetbridge (that could have been handled by airport police??)... other than that... it's lost guns or misfired guns inflight...

It's difficult to tell if it's working as a deterrent, or not. I personally don't think it's necessary, but if people wanna play around carrying a gun to work (seems like it's usually a specific 'type' of person too) that's fine with me.
Just don't accidentally shoot me.
