Words are powerful, the poster I quoted used the word “horrible”, that is not a word I would use. Yet the facts remain. We are behind current industry standards. Other leading carriers you know their names. It is multiple carriers. They have negotiated with their company.

I will admit Reserve rules at ENY can overall seem great to the right person, but that is not the majority who commute like the rest of the industry!

No secret ENY is behind industry standards with “Eagle” work rules. A vaguely interpreted contract language by the company, while pilots file grievances believing they have been wronged, wanting to be made whole. This industry has changed.

We can focus on the facts, ENY Pilots took bankruptcy concessions and post bankruptcy concessions not to be Comair 2. While other carriers have advanced reserve and work rules ENY wants more concessions just to negotiate reserve rule. These are the facts.

We know Company views that there is no problem and ENY is going for great, but things can always be better for both parties.

Doug Parker CEO said it best “We have a business that’s been transformed, but the culture hasn’t been transformed, and that holds us back” according to what he told Fortune. He also said “It’s one thing to build trust with a group, but it’s completely different to regain trust when you’ve lost it,” says Parker. “We just have to do trustworthy things over and over and over again every day.”
Yeah, i have read the union messages and I wholeheartedly support their efforts.
It’s just that I find it hard to see where we really lack behind many other regionals in a meaningful way. If you want to find the real bottom dwellers, you have places like CommutAir, who ONLY use standby reserves. I don’t know anyone who commutes to reserve, and is happy about it.
I think the real issue is that our 145 guys sit reserve longer than average. But if you commute to reserve at Endeavor, you will hate it just as well (and do it just as long).
