I've paid for her initial PPL, to help her ensure it's the career she wants, after that she's on her own. Im just trying to teach her the value of networking and speaking people that are in the field to gain the most adequate and up to date knowledge.
“The value of networking” this is an important aspect regarding those who are advocating a degree outside of aviation. The accredited aviation colleges get major consideration with the big airlines these days and provide excellent networking opportunities. People don’t want to go to Harvard because you learn more, it’s for the network of people you will be able to draw on as you enter your career. I went to a large popular aviation college and have one of those degrees the other posters think is useless, but all of my buddies from college are flying for the big airlines. It really made finding a job easier when I was qualified.
