Everyone interviewing seemed great. Really blown away they only took 4.
Everyone was very qualified. Average age was probably 45.
One guy had 9000tpic, one had years of 747 time, one had a law degree, at least one had a masters. Several lived in/near a domicile.
All kicked to the curb. No idea what they're looking for. But very disappointed. I know all of us really wanted to be there.
Seven hours of interviewing and flying people in... poor recruiting and waste of company's time if you're only taking that percentage.
Meanwhile at ORD event they took 10/10 they interviewed and those people were only interviewed for 30 minutes or so. Total joke.
Were you told TBNT, or they wanted to see you back in 6 months? At my 9 hour interview, I was shocked at both who got the job (myself included), and who didn't.
There are a lot of ways to botch the interview here: SBI, Panel, pre-panel. But all the time spent waiting is one of the best ways to cut your head off. I saw people take their jackets off, sit down and get comfortable, and not engage the "runners". Those two were not offered jobs.
I prepped, as so many other here have, with Lori Clark. She's simply the best for this particular airline. Two other fellas in my group also prepped with her and got the job. Best money I've ever spent.
When was the ORD event? I know that most who interviewed from spring 2018 until our AIP was announced were in and out in sometimes less than an hour, but we were beyond desperate at that point. Post AIP/contract, the floodgates have opened on applicants and we can afford to be a lot more particular in who we hire.
I honestly hope you were given the "come back in 6 months" but, as others have stated, leave the sour grapes in the trash, bud. They WANTED to hire you when they called you for an interview. It was up to you to show them that you'd fit in here. A mistake (or multiple) on your part was made during the interview and it's as simple as that. Do your best to figure out what that was and reapply. Best of luck!
