My bet is most of the señor captains will bypass 1 yr. We have a good record of guys getting fedex and dal obviously, and if you're a 1000+tpic LCA or next in line for that, i'de imagine one would hold out for a legacy.
But if you'll live in base at F9 and you are an FO now, might not be a bad move.. The deliveries over there look enticing.. If the upgrade times come down even more to like 2 yrs, you could do alright at F9. It's like those who went to NK in 2016-17, they got a better contract and now they are upgrading
It’s a no brainer for an FO, year 1 there is higher than CP top of scale. Unless you are certain that you will be hired in the next year I don’t know why you wouldn’t as a CA either. If you don’t get hired in a year and then go you will be at $57/hr when you could have been at $105/hr. IMO unless you have the interview scheduled and are 100% sure you will get it at legacy or major cargo, I would go and keep my apps up to date. Better to spend a few years at 105-130 than a few years at 78-97, and worst case you are in line and get to 240 quicker.
