If you don’t get hired in a year and then go you will be at $57/hr when you could have been at $105/hr. IMO unless you have the interview scheduled and are 100% sure you will get it at legacy or major cargo, I would go and keep my apps up to date. Better to spend a few years at 105-130 than a few years at 78-97, and worst case you are in line and get to 240 quicker.
Indeed. If you’ve already got your 1000 TPIC I can’t see the downside if you can still live in base. Yes, first year pay sucks, but you add a non-RJ type rating which may do as much for your resume as a RJ LCA job would, and you get to upgrade at Frontier as soon as there is a slot for you, assuming you don’t get your call from your dream job earlier. Which if they really ARE taking delivery of all those airbuses, wouldn’t be that long a wait.
Alternatively, all you’ve really risked is the difference between CPZ captain pay and 1st year Frontier FO pay and the additional RJ TPIC versus the Airbus TSIC.
