That process was a nightmare for me. Took a good 2 months. The background check company kept calling me because I had gaps longer than 6 months in employment. At the time I was 20 years old, and they were asking me why I wasn't employed when I was 11,12,13,etc. Those people are robots. I kept having to call them and ask if they were serious. I had to explain that in my state, 14 is the absolute minimum to be employed with a lot of restrictions. They finally let it go after I sent them my school records.
