This maybe true if you're trying to get on with a regional who only has that type of fleet. What if that new hire gets put in the Airbus at jetBlue or 737 at AA? This is why the majors don't care what type you have. You still have to go through the same footprint as the rest of the new hire. You're focusing on something that doesn't make you stand out. Attending job fairs, Letter of recommendation makes you stand out. jetBlue cares more about the volunteer work you've done than the type of airplane you've flown in the past.
