In the flight deck, does the noisy stab wheel rotate?

I don't think it does, but what is the answer?
Yes it moves. But I don’t think this is what happened. I think AP was engaged but was kicked off by the system with airspeed disagree forcing the PF to handfly and that will immediately reduce the window of situational awareness. Add alarms and heavy control forces and I doubt the PF would even notice or hear the trim wheel moving. The PM should have a larger window of situational awareness but this is where experience enters the picture. At 200 hours I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

The jump seater on the penultimate lion air flight had a good window of SA and saved the day.
