Yes in the US most employers will not count a degree unless it is accredited by US agencies. Folks from overseas sometimes have problems if they have a 3-year degree, or the education format was different than the US accreditation authorities require.

At some US majors, you odds of getting without a degree are zero.

At most of the best US majors your odds are very low, like 1-2% and only if you have exception aviation credentials.

A few don't require it all, but they are not what is considered top tier. Still could be a good career though.
