This is true within 4 days of the trip in question. Before that, it’s not subject to reserve coverage but rather a predetermined max number of duty periods in open time for a particular day (seat and base specific). For example MCO is almost always max 7 on weekdays and max 5 on weekends. As long as there are less than 5 open duty periods for a particular weekend day (which since the contract passed is NOT a problem) you’re free to drop. Basically since the new contract passed getting time off is not the problem. It’s getting more credit that has been the issue. Open time is full of garbage. The good trips don’t stay in open time longer than about 3 minutes, literally.
