With all due respect, why do you make the presumption that the OP will have kids in the future? Kids are not for everyone, just like college isn't for everyone, especially right after high school.
Only those with a burning desire to do so should have kids! Not fair to the kids otherwise.
He may, he may not. I’m not sure why you even assumed I meant kids.
But you don’t know. I’ve known people who resolved to never have kids then ended up as great parents. I know people who really wanted kids and never were “blessed” (or cursed, depending on your point of view) with them.
The thing is, as you get older the likelihood is that you will have responsibilities. You may not, but you may. Mortgages. 401k. Car payment. You name it.
Do the things when you are young that you may not be able to do later.
But hey. You’re right. I’m wrong. What do I know?
