Compass has an attrition (and hiring rate) of 20 a month from a pilot group of about an eighth as big as OO. Those numbers don’t seem all that surprising really. And yeah, the turnover for the guys at the legacies is mainly death, disability, and early or age 65 retirement. Not many legacy pilots leaving to go back to work at the regionals...
