Just to be clear for those that aren't familiar with all the airline terms...on reserve you only have to answer the phone while on duty, but not checked in on a trip. Your duty RAP, or reserve availability period, is 14 hours long each day (shorter on the last day) and is known when you receive your schedule for the month. Totally different from the corporate/charter lifestyle.
