A crew zigged when they should have zagged going out of ORD. They are unemployed. I don't know the whole story. Just that there was an RA and such.
Crew was assigned a heading by tower. Crew read back an incorrect heading that went unnoticed by tower and subsequently dialed in the incorrect heading on departure. Turned into an AA flight off the parallel. They were within 100 feet vertically and 2.9 miles laterally. Made the news. AA didn’t like the media attention and told Envoy to can both pilots. CA will most certainly get his job back eventually. FO was on probation so he is hosed.
