That's EXACTLY why my MEC got rid of MEC ratification and switched the ALPA rudder to Membership ratification.

Now its up to YOU to be proactive, demand what YOU want from YOUR LEC and MEC reps and then VOTE! It was always depressing that when contract votes were counted less than 50% actually took the time to vote.

I guarantee you that the senior guys will vote, especially if they think their pay rate is going to take a hit in order to improve the life of reserve pilots.

Rather, I think the biggest problems you face are crappy schedules, the inability to trade and the reduced QOL due to fewer and fewer days off. The senior guys are still doing fine with line bidding...are you?

L-AS pilots have always been afraid of PMS because they've been historically shafted by KB and her line bidding philosophy. Perhaps its time to finally give the Company the PMS they've long desired with the caveat that its something like the system the VX people had.

But, hey, its not up to me. I'm just an interested observer at this point. Decide what you want, give explicit MARCHING ORDERS to the MEC and make DAMM sure they follow them. Stay united and you may be surprised what you can accomplish.
You’re right, I totally misunderstood! Nicely written and I agree with you 100%. Schedules and qol are the top of many of our priorities but I think that we are owed, if we can take it, improvements across the board. Most of the other majors are about to start another round of negotiations and we will be even further behind than we are now if we don’t stand up for ourselves this time
