This was an idiotic rumor which some regional FO's perpetuated years ago to enhance their own self-importance. Nothing could be further from the truth. If any airline actually did specify that, they are an anomaly.

At the grown up level in this industry, a jet is a jet, and if you can't figure out how to fly it regardless of where the motors hang, they probably don't want you.
