Default GoJet buys AWAC??

“As we close the day this Monday we have received information that GoJet airlines (GoJet Airlines, LLC) has made a deal with Air Wisconsin (Air Wisconsin Airlines, LCC) to merge their seniority lists in a purchase agreement by GoJet for the price of $2.3 Billion (USD).

This deal comes after arduous years of negotiations between the Air Wisconsin labor groups and the company representatives. Both airlines strive to offer the greatest regional flying service to their contracted company, United, however they were not able to achieve performance goals on their own.

It was accepted nearly silently by the Air Wisconsin pilots’ union that they would be “stapled” to the bottom of the GoJet seniority list. This means that some of the most senior pilots at AWA (Air Wisconsin Airlines) will be put below the most junior pilots at GoJet.

Air Wisconsin currently operates the Bombardier CRJ-200 series model while GoJet operates the more advanced, comfortable, CRJ-700 series. Going forward with the merger the Air Wisconsin pilots will only be offered to operate the 200 series while the GoJet pilots will be offered premium pay if it becomes required of them. The CRJ-200 has long been scrutinized by the traveling public as being uncomfortable and inconvenient for the need to check standard carry-on sized luggage.
