I could give three fks about the base.

Few questions:
  1. Can I bid for any equipment as a new hire Direct Entry CA?
No, only the aircraft that are left over after the rest of the pilot group bids in a vacancy bid. More than likely 145. Small chance of the CRJ. Almost zero chance 175.
  2. How does the bidding for E145, E175 or CRJ700 works for new hires Direct Entry CA?
You bid on the first day of class, but often the DECs have one choice: ORD 145. If you started today, that would be your only option. We currently have a vacancy bid open now, so whatever is left after that, you'll have your pick.
  3. How is the breakdown of the $45k bonus they advertise for Direct Entry CA?
No idea, but I've heard only a small amount of people have qualified for the entire $45k. I think something closer to $40k is more common.
  4. Anyone done this Direct Entry CA thing into the E175 that I can DM?
No DEC has been awarded the 175 on the first day.
  5. Whats the Direct Entry CA training footprint look like?
Long term training, just like everybody else. About 2.5-3 months from start to finish.
  6. Is Direct Entry CA an AQP initial or a classic checkride?
    AQP.
  7. How often they have Direct Entry CA classes, how big are they?
Classes are starting every 2 weeks.
  8. Regarding FLOW TIME, is it the same for new hires FO and new hires CA?
Yes, Seniority based no matter your position.
  9. How long are the Direct Entry CA reserve times before holding a line?
YEARS. Seriously. You have to remember that everybody else ahead of you on the seniority list will always be ahead of you. So all of those brand new FOs will zero 121 time will upgrade someday. And when they do, they'll bump you back down.

Thanks
See bold above for answers.

The DEC boat looks like it's either sailed already, or is pulling up anchor now. You definitely don't want to be the last guy on the boat. That's a miserable existence of 2-4 years as the very bottom guy on the reserve list. That means 11 day off, airport standby every. Single. Day. Also, our reserve rules are really terrible.

I'm not all doom and gloom, in fact, I'm really happy here. But now is definitely not the time to DEC into here.
