Hum... Not exactly why they're calling for a pre-interview interview. This is your first chance to get the interview and tell them why you want the job. I wouldn't go down a path of what you do on your free time. They are busy folks and want to fill classes with the right people. So grab the opportunity when they call!! When the ball is tossed at you knock it out of the park. Silver02ex you work at Spirit? They aren't calling to ask about free time and what you like to do? They will have so very pointed questions and you better get those right to move to the interview!!
I had a 10-15 min phone call with SF, all my question was to get to know me, what I did on my free time. I told her about a vacation I just got back from. The “Why Spirit?” or “why do want to leave my company?” was during the face to face interview. Say what you want but, my conversation landed me a face to face interview and a class date offer later.
