I've got a 15 year old son who might want to become a pilot for a living and I'm going to have him see an AME for his medical in the coming weeks. The AME's office assistant seemed puzzled why a 15 year old would need a 1st class exam.
Is there any reason why not get him cleared for 1st class to begin with, rather than starting with 3rd or 2nd class, and then going back later on and going through the process all over again?
I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere online.
