When you already work for the wholly owned subsidiary, doing a cog test, job knowledge test, and psych screen serves no purpose than hazing. If you don't have the cognitive ability, the job knowledge, or are psychologically unfit, you have no business flying for 9E either. All the other wholly owned regionals have flow, we have a coin flip.
As I've said before, I have no problem with some sort of screening process before going to mainline, but give us defined, merit based metrics. Not three BS tests and a popularity contest of a panel.
We do the same job etc. but there is considerably more liability involved with a fully loaded A330 versus a CRJ. I want career progression too, but I can also understand their desire to control who they trust with that liability.
