The problem with 30hr layovers is a typical 3 day will fly 7:45 day 1 - arrive at 11p/12a. sleep (but not too long because you have a 430a van on day 3) then block 7:45 on the last day. For a total of 15:30-15:45 block. Essentially a min credit 3 day that could have been flown in 2 days with a day off at a random outstation.
I’d rather work 2 days in...2 days, and have my day off at home with my family. To each their own though, but they mostly go junior for a reason.
That's one way to look at it. I figure that I'd rather have as few days of suiting up as possible. Most of the 3-days I see are min credit anyway, so I'd much rather choose one that has a full day off somewhere. I find the higher block on days 1 and 3 to be completely worth it.
