Go with what will make your life healthier and easier. I was hired by B6 back in 2015(ish) and turned it down due to just not being right time and place for me. I always had a what if feeling. Fast forward a few years and I’m at WN, living in base, and enjoying life with my family down in Mexico for the week just because we can. I have friends at both places who love it and also those that will just not be happy anywhere...Who cares what the color of paint is, just how is QOL and pay ratio as well as how the contract works to you. If it works in your favor and you will be happy go with it.
Premium is a lovely thing but nothing permanent anywhere. Regardless there are always ways to work the system ethically and legally to bring in a higher credit. This month (2nd year FO) I’m at 13 days off and credit 152 TFP as an example. (many may think this is fatiguing while other may do even higher credits. For me I like the choice) I choose to do some early morning turns and I’m having lunch with my wife by noon and picking up the kids from school even though it was a work day I still enjoy the day with kids and have family dinner time. I use this as an example on ways to control QOL and what may work for one wouldn’t work for another.
If you want to know a bit more about financial health of a company go to their website and click on investor relations. Read their financials. Create a spreadsheet and analyze them and their assets to liabilities. How much cash do they have? Those pages tell a lot and if that makes you feel better about stability it could impact your decision making. It played a roll for me.
I have a B6 buddy that also does very well and his QOL to pay ratio is nothing to sneeze at. Key here is that both of us live in a base and that changes your world. I wish you luck and regardless may you have a stellar career in front of you.
