The scenario is, a 4 day worth ~23 hrs, all block. Weather delays so get ~1 hr of overblock, then rerouted into a higher block turn in the middle of day 2, so now the trip is at +1.5 hrs. But then we time-out at the end of day 2 and are given domicile layover which removes about 4 hrs of flying, taking the trip back down to the original 23 hrs pay.

My question is, do we have any protection for the extra block we flew if later in the trip we go underblock? Or is it just rotation guarantee?
I don't think you get any extra pay for the extra flying day 2. I would check into your reroute because it could be illegal. If scheduling knew about that flying more than 14 hours out they cannot reroute you into it. This happens all the time and you get a lot of extra pay if you fly the reroute then tell scheduling it was an illegal reroute.
