Some would argue that being compensated hundreds of millions of dollars is an entitlement for being at the top of the food chain. It's not an argument that wealth needs to be evenly distributed, but rather what is fair? Greed is a great motivator, but at some point the financial gains of a few yield little benefit to society.
Considering every pilot at Allegiant is roughly making $100k+, it's not a really valid argument unless you're advocating for the rest of the staff. Comparing our situation to Delta will probably always seem depressing. Then again, even the most senior Delta pilot probably has 2-3X the time away from base as a junior Allegiant pilot... so lets not feel too sorry for ourselves.
