These are all good people I’m referring to. I’m sure they fully understand the ups and downs of their decisions. Seems juvenile to be upset about things you yourself control.
Now if you want to discuss bases closing then you would have a point.
But you're missing the point. Everyone around here lectures people for not moving to base or bidding bases where they don't live. Says its their own fault for commuting. Or maybe they live in the valley and came to work here hoping to get IWA eventually. Commute to LAS OAK or LAX for years waiting for that spot to open. Then they get it and sure they're junior but finally no more commuting and crashpads. Then they get TDYd out. To SAV or MYR that is not commutable to anywhere. Sure you can say they bid a senior base and get what they deserve and its easy for you to say that when you're not in their position. Pre contract TDY was out of control. You were here. That was a big part of the fight. Then we had a honeymoon and the company built up VBD and TDY went down. Then they decided it was too expensive and we are back to up yours take a walk and TDY a few months every year. My point is if were going to accept this then we need to stop selling this place as a airline you sleep in your own bed every night and we need to stop taking less in compensation and quality of life for it. It will always be a seasonal airline. I will be retired long before the next contract is inked but I really hope more of you guys read past section 3 next time and get some good language for all the issues going on here. Or keep whistling past the graveyard because you're too senior to worry about it. I could do that but I don't. When you've started over a bunch of times you know what the junior folks are going through. I hope your career turns out better than mine did.
