Town hall this week the said no hiring this year maybe in early 2020. Also no new bases this year maybe 1 or 2 in 2020. I'm sure our junior captains and FOs will enjoy having another year of stagnation. Delta, United, American, Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier are all hiring. We are missing out on a a huge amount of great pilots by sitting out this hiring boom. By the time we hire all thats left will be the bottom of the barrel that got passed on by everyone else. Add to that they just put a flight attendant in charge of flight operations. It's like they are intentionally trying to tank the airline they keep claiming is the primary venture. Pay attention to what they do not what they say. It's all smoke and mirrors to keep the investors and financiers engaged. Once the hotels get critical mass they are going to drop the airline like a hot potato. Lot of pilots going to be out of work and the hiring boom will be over 5 years from now when the next downturn is here. You all can call me doom and gloom. I say learn from my experience. If you're qualified to get a real job at a real airline now is the time don't let comfort in your seat and fear of a pay cut screw you for the rest of your career when your airline crumbles around you. You don't want to be the guy standing when the music stops. I've been there several times and it sucks.
