Would argue experience level matters. Not aware of safety record issues getting hired that was tagged to the individual. Who knows.
If not current flying military, rare to get a call. If current, then often it leans toward folks on terminal leave or just retired. Some younger military do get hired, they are current military flyers and have other elements UPS desires. Recall when UPS bragged how many new hires had graduate degrees a few years ago? UPS for a time preferred graduate level degree applicants so military had a complimentary element most didn't possess. They had a masters Nowadays, not heavily weighted. UPS hires folks who were regional with min TPIC who went to Atlas FO for a year then called and hired UPS.
Fact is, UPS HR is a pure enigma. Data points are all afield. No logic. My guess is UPS HR have exactly what they want. All should apply if interested. UPS HR lottery factor alone suggests may as well apply.
Good luck to all.
