That is correct. To choose OTP it must be by the showtime of a Conflicted trip.
But, in many situations, you are better off waiting until blocking in from your extended to trip to make that decision. Example, you have a trip extended 10 hours and it conflicted with a 12CH trip. The overage isn't going to equate with the value of staying in SUB and retaining that 12 CHs.
