Training dept told me that the slow down in hiring is a result of Airbus delivery delays. Apparently CFM can't produce engines fast enough.
I think the slowdown might have less to do with the contract and guys picking up open time and more to do with Airbus falling behind.
This is exactly what I heard from a Check Airman friend as well. I do think that it’s probably a combination of both though, not just the contract or the CFM delays.
I could be wrong though, and often am just ask my wife.
