No, just that the "maybe" is more enticing than the end product. No one really expects miracles, but no one wants to be the dude who leaves 3 weeks before the mythical SWA buyout/200% pay increase/whatever. Unless you've got a class date at WN or a legacy, it only makes sense you'd at least wait for this to shake out before deciding to move on.

I think there's truth behind the WN/AA hiring cooldown impacting attrition, but I don't think that's the whole story. Folks are reluctant to admit it, but there's a lot of cautious optimism about what the next year holds at SY.
