Thousands of people do it every day. Check loads, give yourself multiple options if necessary, go to work, go home at the end. call in emergency if you dont make it, then catch up to your trip when u can make it. Not a problem unless you become a repeat offender. Its a point of contention among some in the pilot group, but seems the large majority dont want a commuter policy. For those who dont abuse the system you will never hear a word. Myself included. For those who live in rural areas where the service is limited a "two flight policy" would require you to go in the night before giving up time at home and spending money on a hotel, when the one morning flight that will get you to work on time is almost always a sure thing. The rare times where it doesnt work you would be in violation of the policy and subject to discipline action.
