That said, there is a practical annoyance to it. I don't know if you're listening to music and will not hear what I say to you. I don't know if you're listening to a phone call and it's me being rude interrupting if I speak to you. That being said, if you've carved out a private spot to sit and do this like sitting in the back with pax or in the cockpit at the gate on your own or some corner in the terminal or crew room, fine. I can assume you're on your own time enjoying whatever those nerdy pimped up earpods give you. But walking through the terminal with them in or even in a group of people actively talking... come on, really?
Small inner-earbuds are the least of your problems. AA and wholly owned pilots look unprofessional. I am seeing a rise in backpacks, shirts undone, no tie a lot of times, no undershirt with chest hair sticking out, obese, not clean cut, hair over ears, not shaven...the list goes on and on and on...chiefs set the tone and they dont wear uniform correctly either, you tube videos also wear not authorized items too...sooo the tone unfortunately has been set...no one cares how they look here...appearance sets tone...that’s probably why aa just got ranked number 9 below spirit...unprofessional for sure...if they payed us like professionals and treat us better people might care
