Yes, I read the book before posting, but I also read the op-spec and read the Jepp definition of ‘adequate visual reference’ and it seemed that ‘AVR’ is used in lieu of standard take off minimums for certain operators. It doesn’t appear to be a true ‘minimum.’ That’s why in DFW it still lists ‘AVR’ of 16 or 1/4, but also 5/5/5 for so equipped runways.
I will reach out to someone in training, as I could not find a field that had standard takeoff minus’s (and should be reducible from the OpSpec), but also did not have ‘AVR’ of 16 or 1/4.
