Well, ya, money is stopping them. Money is the reason for everything they do. So there is a reason to not ramp up early, money. There is a reason why they dont say "Hey, lets make sure we are properly staffed for the summer and get hiring done early," its money. Everything about this company is based on kicking the can to the last second to save money. Problem is the "can" usually goes off the cliff because they kicked it too long.

Every summer they run short on pilots and it leads to some sort of collapse. Ask any pilot who has been here for at least 3 or 4 summers...

We only invest just enough to keep the IT department barely functional, every pilot should know that based on experience. Saves money.

The company disputed our rigs to help delay PBS for a month, to save money.

We are not that far removed from when this company was a place that removed half of the light bulbs in their corporate office to save money, and had an empty desk where a receptionist would sit.

So to what is stopping them? Money. Its always money. So don't believe for a second if they can't find a way to delay hiring another few months, they will. This isnt "running around in panic," its being aware on who we work for.
