I know there was a study done in Canada that busted the myth of not being able to obtain a proper seal on aviation O2 masks. I get fitted every other year for masks in the military, both positive pressure and Chemical / Biological. Its one of those 15 minute seal tests, where you have to read out of a book while moving your head in multiple uncomfortable positions. The machine says I get a good seal every time.
I know other countries airlines allow beards, and I know Hawaiian allows them, but was unsure about JetBlue, or any others.
Any info would be appreciated (except your personal opinion on why you don't like beards)
We used to allow goatees here, but that changed maybe 4-5 years ago. I haven’t seen any beards since then. Our FOM prohibits it, but I am not sure what the answer would be if you have a medical condition.
I will be honest and say I doubt we will go back to allowing beards. Our branding/marketing departments are strongly in control of the airline and uniform standards/appearance related issues are huge here.
I will say though, I have a killer Reserve Beard going right now. 9 days so far!
