Anything over 1000 miles needs to be on something with mainline staff above/below the wing. There are Airbus/boeing products from 100-220 seats with common type ratings. Sell the seats and fill them up. Southwest has been extremely successful doing it. Simplify, invest in a respectable product, and grow.
Express doesn’t usually cancel the flight themselves it is usually done by the Host Major airlines they are flying for. I am sure some things are done in house but most cancellations are done by United, AA etc.
