Week one is indoc .... week 2 dedicated for CBTs. As was stated above...you absolutely need this week to get in to the FTD and get flows down cold. Other training programs spend a day or two playing "show and tell" to get comfy in the cockpit. Day one in the FTD....you'll be briefed weather that is flirting with mins, in icing conditions with special procedures out of some place in Europe with a goofy departure. The sim instructor will drop a logbook in your lap with a couple stickers on it....hack his watch...."Alright fellas, 45 minutes to be off the gate!". Oh, your PV is 6 days away.....
That’s why I said get the CBTs done before you arrive... or indoc week at the latest.
Every minute you spend in the sim doing the cockpit prep is a minute you aren’t “flying”. If two students can do it in 35 minutes versus 45 minutes that’s 20 minutes of extra sim per session. After 3 sims you have an extra hour in the sim “flying” versus setting up.
