The thing with the 145 is it isn't a growing fleet, so the only movement you will see are people moving out above you. Whereas the 175 gets that movement and also the movement that a growing fleet brings. What this means is you will be subject to longer reserve stints and all the chaos that brings. If you live in base it is bearable, but as a commuter you will likely have to commute in the day prior to your reserve sequences starting on multiple occasions and potentially end too late on your last day to make it home. so you can lose a lot of time at home which is at a premium with only 11 days off a month.

depending on what base you want reserve could be even longer for instance dfw is senior so those FOs who after spending 6 months on reserve in ORD and getting the transfer to DFW have to then again sit reserve for 6 months. I'm not sure on the actual numbers it is just an example of what I am talking about.

Reserve just brings headaches and frustration and that is what you get if your aren't lucky enough to get the 175. I don't even want to think about what would happen to an unlucky person if Envoy decides we suddenly need more CRJ pilots.
