Nothing says "resignation in lieu of termination" more than a sub-12 month stint at a regional.
Not to mention they want their full bonus amount back, not just the amount you got after taxes. So that’d mean paying like $10k out of pocket, and that’s not a good prize either.
Anyone intending to do this shouldn’t take any money from them. And to your point, I don’t know why anyone would want to do this.
