Does anyone know where negotiations are at with Mesa?
Found this on yahoo boards recently:
Got some good news from ALPA recently:
Dear Fellow Pilots,
We are pleased to announce that your Negotiating Committee met with management yesterday (December 11) and agreed to a protocol agreement for the upcoming negotiations. A protocol agreement is basically a “rules of the road” document that helps define the avenue of our upcoming negotiations. It contains, among other things, provisions about who will be released, when we will meet, and where we will meet.
As many of you are painfully aware, our airline is experiencing rough times. We felt that the tone set by management at these meetings would help illuminate their intentions moving forward. In other words, “Is management serious about fixing our company?” After a productive meeting, we walked away with a positive feeling that management was indeed committed to the process. Not only were we able to agree on the protocol agreement, we also agreed to an aggressive negotiating schedule moving forward. All of the primary members of your Negotiating Committee have been released, and we have developed an aggressive meeting schedule for at least twice a month into the foreseeable future. Management sees the need to fixing our problems, and they have committed themselves to sitting down with us and working on a comprehensive contract in an expedited manner.
We will continue to work aggressively on behalf of all of you and keep you informed every step of the way. Our pledge to you is to be as open and upfront as we possibly can throughout the process. In return, I ask that you keep yourselves informed with the latest information. Make sure your emails are up to date with ALPA. Check the www.alpa.org/mag <>http://www.alpa.org/mag> website as often as you can. Also, please fill out the on-line survey. It closes this Monday (December 17) and the information we get from it is critical to the development of a new contract. Our goal is to achieve a fair contract that recognizes the immense sacrifice and hard work our pilots have bequeathed to the success of Mesa Air Group.
Sincerely,
Captain Albert Montoya
Negotiating Committee Chairman
MAG MEC
I still kind of find it interesting that this is all the progress that has been made, seeing that the contract became ammendable in September. Again, where is ALPA national helping out?
